The Horsemen announced a surprise drop for today, once this morning at 9 am and tonight at 8 pm. The page isn't live at the moment but here's the link to the main store... https://store-horsemen.myshopify.com/collections/all
The surprise was a Mythic Legions based Krampus. It is in-stock and it comes in a fancy box and costs $50. Seemed to last a while this morning but not really sure, either. I'm guessing that the "Figura Obscura" name is for figures that don't fit neatly into their existing lines like Eagalus.

Last Friday the Horsemen announced another surprise drop for the next morning (and a second chance later that night). This time around it was the Headless Horseman along with his steed. $150 is a bit steep for an out-of-the-blue drop like that. The set looks amazing, though, and I happened to have enough for it so I caved on it... Kind of bad timing though with the Ghost Rider and HeroScape HasLabs live right now along with another HeroQuest expansion, numerous Marvel Legends and the Indy and D&D pre-orders and then there is Mattel's Eternia playset going up next week for just under a month to back.

OK, this is just a weird Artist thing to notice but ...
Is the horse painted with OSL (Object source lighting) from the flaming pumpkin (there are orange highlights on the neck and legs)? If so, that only works in the very specific pose that is shown in that first photo. If you were to put the figure on the horse all of those orange highlights would be very odd and out of place. Also, there is no OSL on the Horseman himself, which is also odd.
I'm guessing its not a paint app, but just the way the photo was lit, but regardless, it is causing me some cognitive dissonance issues.
Very nice figure though, as always. If I had the money I'd consider it

Alright... so, at 2:10 am this morning I get an e-mail from the Horsemen that my set is on the way... at 11:08 am I get another message from them saying that the package has been delivered... If I'd checked my e-mail right after work I could've picked it up today now I'll have to wait at least until Friday to get it...

Another Figura Obscura drop tomorrow. No info on what or how much, yet, I guess 9 am will tell that tale... There is a photo with the proper press release which is a stack of scrolls or maps, not sure if that's a hint.

The Figura Obscure adventure continues tomorrow (Saturday, 05/13/23) starting at 9am EST. If you wish to embark upon this latest adventure with Four Horsemen Studios, here is what you will need to know:
We will do 2 sale drops tomorrow (with the same items in each drop). The first will be at 9am EST, and the second will be at 8pm EST. This split drop allows fans across the country, and across the world, a chance to grab this latest Figura Obscura release.
This Figura Obscura will be limited to 2 per-person, per sale drop to start. In addition to the new Figura Obscura release, we will also have a limited number of additional items available with the same theme, including a limited number of "All In" sets which will include 1 of every item available (All Ins are limited to 1 per person, per drop). These limits apply for the first 24 hours of the sale. If any items are available after this period, all purchase limits will be lifted.
The Figura Obscura items available in tomorrow's drop will begin shipping to customers at the end of June! Due to the volume of expected orders, once we get started this process may take up to 4 weeks to complete - meaning these will be shipping through the end of July. Please be aware of this timeline when ordereing.

This drop's figure is Sun Wukong, the Monkey King. It is a beautiful figure, I cannot wait until I get it in hand in a couple of months. $60 with another $16 shipping is a little tough to swallow, though... I know shipping is expensive but $16 for USPS and I think it was $20-something for FedEx... ouch... I know that's not all on the shipping services, the Horsemen have to pay for the packing materials and the extra help to move them out of the building in a few weeks, but I think we've all gotten too used to free shipping from so many places that reality hits hard when you're faced with it... I've been begging for an armored baboon in Mythic Legions since they started the goblin sized figures, I figured regular arms on a thin body with the short goblin legs would get the proportions right... I mean, armored and armed baboons?... that would be some terrifying shit right there... Now that they've got a lot a bunch of ape hands and a set of ape feet maybe my nightmare is a little closer to reality...
Anyway, I don't how fast they sold this morning (I got mine pretty quick and logged off), but there's another shot at 8 pm EST tonight and I'm sure there will be a repainted version through the online retailers later on. Not as iconic as Santa or the Headless Horseman and no horror show like Krampus but it's still falls right into the Horsemen style and they seem to have knocked it right out of the park.
