I'm not familiar with HeroScape.  I do remember when it was in stores years and years ago with all of the little add-on packs.  This looks really good and I can kind of see the price-point with all of that plastic in the building(s) but people either don't have the fond memories of this game like HeroQuest or the $250 price point is keeping backers away as it's only got 1,725 backers of the 8,000 it needs to fund.  I'm tempted just for the figures to use elsewhere...

My friend told me to stop quoting the Monkees. I thought she was joking. But then I saw her face.

HeroQuest is a better game than HeroScape was, although the HeroScape concept allowed for more depth and breadth of elements.

Yes, for $250, you are getting a massive amount of plastic and it falls in line with many other similar table top war-games. The problem is, that market doesn't really know about HasLab and its offerings. The vast majority of consumers at my FLGS had no idea HeroQuest was coming back until the store had copies in stock and on shelves.

If HasLab did a better job of advertising to its non-traditional toy base, this would have a much better chance of getting the backers it needs (although 8000 backers is a tad high, even Games Workshop, the hands down leader in the genre sets its minimums closer to 5000).
