Alien Vs Predator

That being said, despite the script being a cliche, nonsensical, and the movie being a soulless cashgrab at best, I won't entirely dismiss it, if only because it's still a hundred times better than Predator 2. And that's not hyperbole either. I don't consider this movie the worst in both franchises (the way many critics and fans do) while Predator 2 is out there stinking up the joint.

Do you know the worst thing? This is milestone for both franchises, and the film couldn't bother to be canon to either. Isn't that frustrating? Aside of the timeline of the Xenomorphs being from the future, not the past, the Predators were never worshipped like Gods, and the Heywood / Bishop thing makes NO sense regarding both his arc and his ending.

The tagline for the movie was, "Whoever wins, we lose." Which is of course, pure bullshit. We are rooting for the Predator. Full stop. The Predator is not looking to destroy every creature on Earth. The Predator follows rules and customs to the letter, and can be reasoned with.

Honestly, when the final Predator died, I was a little sad. You can call this movie shitty if you like (mostly because it is) but that's a fucking neat trick.

I love that because he marked her, the Predators at the end leave her alone. Which is why I prefer the Predator films to the Alien ones. That's more interesting to me.

If you ever think every single time I've told you my standards are actually low, and that I don't actually ask for much in my entertainment, is bullshit of the highest order, let the VERY generous 3 stars out of 5 I'm giving this dreck make you believe its veracity. If you think I'm too harsh on a franchise you love, it's because I think it's done wrong. These 3 stars prove I'm not actually picky. 3 stars.
