Mad Max: Fury Road

I regret getting into this franchise.
I'm not stupid enough to say the earlier stuff with Mel Gibson was exactly FUN, but it was certainly on some level entertaining. Because this is played MUCH straighter, it's a fucking ordeal instead. What used to be manic energy is now soul-crushing nihilism.
I don't care that this now has professional, expensive visual effects, and a secondary cast I've actually heard of. The whole movie is a slog. 1 1/2 stars.
