Olaf Presents "The Little Mermaid"

Spoiler

Impaling Ursula WAS a pretty shockingly violent end to that film, wasn't it?

Gee, Ariel, of COURSE Ursula has your best interests at heart. No total sociopath would EVER be saying the obviously shady things she said right in front of you. Dope.

I love that Olaf is using his coals to make fun of Triton's nipples.

This premise is pretty much obviously non-canon to EVERYTHING in Frozen, but it's pretty funny. 4 stars.

Olaf Presents "Moana"

Spoiler
Not exactly as well-known of a classic to play with. 3 stars.

Olaf Presents "The Lion King"

Spoiler

This was good. Making fun of the slow-motion fight was great.

The baby snowman was cute as baby Simba.

I love the short pointing out the contradiction of Mufasa supposedly ruling justly and fairly while randomly eating some of his subjects as if that's okay. I think that is a flaw built into the premise of The Lion King, that you can sort of excuse in a single movie, but once you get to The Lion Guard on a weekly basis, you understand how and why it's actually b.s..

Good parody. 4 stars.

Olaf Presents "Aladdin"

Spoiler
Good shade brought against one of the central conflicts of the movie: The Sultan being the unilateral person in charge of rules and regulations, and Jasmine being forced to fret that he was powerless to change them. To be perfectly honest, out of the Big Four Silver Age Disney films, the plot of Aladdin holds together the least. Also I think the voice performance of both Aladdin and Jasmine are terrible. Now of course a Disney production like this is never going to go that far in pointing out the film's many faults. But it's fun to see it poked fun at for many of the reasons I disliked it. 4 stars.

Olaf Presents "Tangled"

Spoiler

Like Moana, I don't think this movie has been in the cultural zeitgeist long enough to do an effective parody. Especially since many of its jokes and lines are done with a modern comedy sensibility rather than a classic Disney animated one.

For the record, Olaf's "Smolder" is only slightly more ugly and ridiculous than Flynn Rider's.

Eh. 3 stars.
