Transformers One

I heard nothing but good things, but it's actually a pretty standard animated film. Seeing the blurb "The best Transformers film ever" sort of pushes the Bay films down my to-watch list to be honest. Don't get me wrong. It's all right. But if it IS the best ever, we are looking as a weak-ass film franchise.

I was looking for personal reasons for the rift between Optimus and Megatron. And I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing that I don't find any fault with Optimus or think he could have changed things. It IS a good thing that I barely find fault with Megatron either and think he's half right.

Whatever the film's faults, I do want to say it's nice to see the franchise making a PG movie little kids can watch. It's a franchise based on toys. I think all of the previous movies being violent spectacles was probably a really bad idea.

Best Transformers film ever? All right then. But I think it's just okay. 3 stars.
