Never. All at once or not at all. I also want the ability to change my mind. It's a pretty damn big investment.

New interview with Brian.  No pictures but the interviewer gets a lot of Cat's Lair info out of him.  Full reveal at SDCC and will go on pre-sale then.  Slightly taller than Snake Mountain.  Cost is going to be $650 plus $100 flat shipping rate for within the US.

750+ Tax is reasonable. I'm curious if the $100 shipping rate also applies to BBTS. I can't watch that whole hour though. Did they give any idea when it's coming out? If it's a couple of years, I'll be able to save up the money. If it's like in September, no.

This is my guess on "when" but I would say September 2024 at the earliest.  The actual reveal is supposed to be the day before SDCC opens with the pre-sale starting during SDCC.  Pre-sale should last from 4 to 8 weeks (I'm guessing 6 weeks but at that price he may add a little time to it).  They won't start tooling or any of that before it actually hits the magic number.  Brian also mentioned that there would be a few "unlocks" if the numbers get there.  After that it will probably take a year for production and delivery provided everything goes perfect and that's how I'm assuming the September 2024 date.  That said, with something that size coming from a company as small as Super7 I would expect delays.  September 2024 is optimal, December 2024/January 2025 is more likely.  I think Snake Mountain took around two years, I don't remember any delays with the Thunder Tank but I wasn't following that closely and I know the Turtle Van has been problem after problem and I'm not sure how far behind it is right now (the test shot looks real good, though).  As for the shipping cost, I'm not sure how BBTS will handle that.  Brian said they were looking at shipping it in two large boxes instead of one huge one and that's why the $100 price, BBTS ships way more stuff than Super7 and has better shipping contracts, I'm sure.

A bit of other miscellaneous info...  Thundercats wave 10 will be solicited in November and there are no exclusives planned for the immediate future. When things are running right, Brian's plan is to offer 3 waves (a total of 12 figures) a year.

I dozed off last night about 15 minutes before I finished the interview and there was one big piece of info at the very end that was a real surprise to hear Brian announce this early and I'm going to start a new thread for that...

The ThunderTank was delayed a LOT. It was around three years from preorders to me. I actually paid for it with stimulus money. That's how long it took.

Only 3,000 backers to make it happen?!?!?...  4,000 for tier 1 and 5,000 for tier 2?...   Don't think they'll have any problems there...

So this probably won't go to BBTS? Have a lot of things to think about before September.

Jim could you give me some idea of how preorders from Super 7 work? Would I have to pay up-front or does it wait until it's shipped? And is it possible this could still go to BBTS? Any info you could give me will be appreciated.

Thanks, Jim. I don't believe that video will answer those specific questions. But I can wait until you have more time. Till September at least.

Pixel Dan's walk-through of the Cat's Lair with Brian...

ht tps://w ww.you tube.c om/watch?v=TfcftqfBL1c

I checked a while ago and the count is up to 1,000 backers.  I'm really surprised that it isn't more by now but I doubt there will be any problem blowing past 5,000 in two months.  Hoping Brian has some extra tiers in reserve in case it goes past the 5,000.

Jim, any news of when this will go to BBTS? Or if not, when Super 7 would actually charge you for it?

It does not look like BBTS will be carrying it.  You might shoot them an e-mail but in that interview where Brian announced TigerSharks were coming he mentioned that the bonus packs for ordering full waves directly from Super7 was specifically to increase their profit margin on the releases, I would take it that means he's not wanting competition within the US for sales on this one.  Plus people can back out of orders from BBTS and other places which might make something this big/expensive too big of a risk for those other retailers, as well.  There is a list of worldwide partners and wholesalers in the middle of the pre-order page but none are for US retailers.  My employer is listed as a wholesaler for "Canada + worldwide".  I wish I could order through the system at work but doesn't look like I can get that kind of savings on this one...

As for when it charges, I'm not sure.  The FAQ doesn't say specifically and I don't remember how they did it with Snake Mountain.  Kickstarter, Mattel Creations and HasLab all charge a within couple of hours (give or take) after the end of the campaign.  I'm going to have to e-mail them, myself, as I want to get in on the key offer but I won't have any funds for even the minimum on the payment plans until next payday (the Dragonfly pretty much wiped out my last paycheck and bills got the rest).  Most crowdfunding waits until the end just so that they don't have to go through cancelling and refunding if the project fails to fund or if they need to cancel/delay the project for some reason.

If you want to look into payments, ShopPay can set it up in four payments over 8 weeks (a little over $160 every two weeks) or twelve payments over a year (about $60 a month with about $55 being 15% interest at the end though you can make early payments which can cut down on the interest total).  PayPal credit might also be an option with them charging no interest if you pay it off in six months.

I'll send an e-mail to Super7 tonight asking about when the payment is charged and let you know what they tell me.
