Mostly dreadful.

I seem to recall giving the first one a positive review. Was I high? Or sick? Or just very, very tired?

The animation is great (Batman Ninja has the freakiest animated Joker I've ever seen) but the story is terrible. The Bat-Phoenix animation sequence? Jesus, this is insanity. Or more like inanity.

Ra's Al Ghul is way too smarmy here. He's acting like Lex Luthor.

The main problem of the film is it is 100% incomprehensible. I had no idea what was going on. "Now, Matt! You claim you LOVE unsolved mysteries in fiction! David Lynch is your jam!"

Yeah, but Lynch treats his mysteries like actual mysteries. This film actually seems to expect me to follow it just fine, which shows how bad at this it is. It seems to be under the impression the audience will get what's going on. And maybe some anime fans will. For a general audience neophyte like me? It's baffling and annoying for it.

The animation is pretty flashy, but the film sucks. 2 stars.
