I love how vulgar Darkseid is. What I love about this version is he's also kind of reasonable, isn't he? That's a really interesting facet.

The chorus is still hilarious. Darkseid and tech support with Brandon made the episode.

Supposedly this sets up Harley Quinn Season 5, but if it did, I don't see how. It wasn't super obvious.

Good finale. 4 stars.

Kite Man, Hell Yeah! "To Get To The Other Side, Hell Yeah!"

I liked a great deal of that. Unfortunately the bloody violence was unusually cruel, even for this show, and made the episode hard for me to watch in places.

Believe it or not, I give a crap about civilians being killed. Their bloody deaths aren't simply a punchline to me, even if dealt by a giant chicken.

Why hasn't Keith David voiced Darkseid before this? He's perfect in the role. And he makes the character dropping f-bombs strangely credible.

Bane's stuff with Goldilocks is weirdly sweet. Just like Bane.

It's funny that a show about Kite-Man buying and running his own bar turned so heavily into the Darkseid and Anti-Life Equation stuff. For a supervillain who is treated like less than nothing by his peers, Kite-Man and Golden Glider still seem to be playing for bigger stakes than anybody else. 3 stars.

It's almost good the briefcase survived at the end. Throwing the Anti-Life Equation into a nuclear reactor could have ended VERY badly if it hadn't.

Frank! JB Smoove is animation's next big voice-over superstar.

Love the dedication to Lance Reddick. He really did a good Luthor. He's equal parts classy and profane.

Bane continues to be equal parts creepy and endearing. I don't recall ever liking him this much on Harley Quinn.

Pretty good week. 3 1/2 stars.

Kite Man, Hell Yeah! "Sexiest Villain Alive, Hell Yeah!"

The ending is super violent and weirdly romantic. And it's good. I couldn't have stood another episode of Beast Mode. He's the worst.

Never seen Lex Luthor getting dunked on so badly. What's great is there isn't much he can do about it with the briefcase in play.

Clayface! Harley Quinn synergy!

I think making the Queen of Fables a series regular was a mistake. I might go into this further in an upcoming review. Of course if I'm wrong I won't need to. But I don't think I'm wrong.

Pretty good week. 4 stars.

Kite Man, Hell Yeah! "Mother / Daughter Day, Hell Yeah!"

God, that sucked SO hard. The episode had a half dozen different plotlines going at once, and I somehow hated ALL of them. That's rare and not good.

I'm not convinced Harley Quinn has never delivered an episode this bad. But if it did, that was in the first season. This is easily the worst episode of this show so far. 1/2 star.

For the record, Bane is NOT useless. He never was.

Apparently Becka is NOT opposed to swearing after all.

I got the logic of making the Queen of Fables the second head, but for some reason I don't like it.

Pretty good week. I can't tell which is a bigger pit: The Pit or freaking Jeremy. 3 1/2 stars.

Kite Man, Hell Yeah! "Portal Potty, Hell Yeah!"

I thought it was great and the best episode so far.

I love Bane's outrage over how awful the 1980's are. And they were. I'm Gen X. We had to raise ourselves back then. What's great is he remembers he's a bad guy and suddenly he loves it. Hilarious.

The episode's ending surprised me because it ended the way it SHOULD have. Very little television ends the way it should. I take pleasant notice whenever it does.

Even predictable television has the habit of ending the wrong way. That's partly why it's predictable. Sometimes there is comfort in seeing a fluffy story go down the way it should. This is better because there is nothing fluffy about this continuity, so it doing that is a genuine pleasant surprise instead.

I liked it. 4 1/2 stars.

I like that Kite Man has never killed anyone. It's also believable.

Baby Doll says Batman: The Animated Series' influence on DC isn't going anywhere.

Kind of overly violent, and the censor blurs were annoying. But I like the show and I liked the episode. 3 1/2 stars.

Kite Man, Hell Yeah! "Pilot, Hell Yeah!"

I hated the Pilot to Harley Quinn, but I loved this. It felt more assured and less reprehensible.

Golden Glider insisting Kite Man's superpower is niceness also makes it weird he's a villain.

Great foreshadowing of the Apokalips stakes at the end of the episode too.

Very promising opener. 4 stars.

Kite Man, Hell Yeah! "Grand Reopening, Hell Yeah!"

Darkseid at Noonan's was pretty funny. Never seen a Darkseid scene quite like it. Iced tea!

Fun episode. 4 stars.
