Honestly, If anyone were to do these, I feel a direct market/comic store exclusive deal would be the best avenue

I've always loved the Amalgam Universe (as convoluted a mess as it is...) but toys never seemed possible with the brands being split between Mattel and Hasbro. Considering that there was never a Heroclix set made for Amalgam I'm betting it has to be impossible if Topps/Wizkids couldn't pull that one off. Still, there are a few companies that hold the license for both Marvel and DC in the same categoies. Mattel has Hot Wheels, Jada has larger scale die-cast vehicles and Nano figures, Funko has POP! and Soda and Mego has the retro-cloth action figures. Not just singles of the Amalgam characters, could be interesting to have 3-packs of the original characters along with the Amalgam-ated combination. Even if Amalgam is completely off-the-table, what about sets based on the cross-over comics?... Superman vs Spider-Man, Batman vs Hulk, Batman/Punisher, Green Lantern/Silver Surfer, X-Men vs Teen Titans... I know none of this would have much mainstream appeal but seems like it could be a great fit for comic shops...

Any thoughts?...
