DAREDEVIL Actor Vincent D'Onofrio Congratulates Charlie Cox On Matt Murdock MCU Return

Kevin Feige has confirmed that Charlie Cox will reprise the role of Matt Murdock in the MCU, and Daredevil costar Vincent D'Onofrio has now taken to Twitter to offer his congratulations.

Kevin Feige pretty much confirmed that Charlie Cox will return as Matt Murdock in the Marvel Cinematic Universe over the weekend, and Vincent D'Onofrio has now taken to Twitter to congratulate his former cast-mate.

Cox and D'Onofrio worked closely together over three seasons of Netflix's Daredevil, and even though they didn't actually share that many scenes, the intensity was palpable whenever they did appear on screen at the same time.

In the series finale, The Man Without Fear was finally able to defeat his nemesis while ensuring that his friends were out of danger - but something tells us The Kingpin is the type to hold a grudge!

"So happy for Charlie Cox he really deserves this," Tweeted D'Onofrio. "He's a great actor and a wonderful guy. He put so much into playing DareDevil in such a unique way. Love this news."

Will these two face-off again in The MCU? Last week's episode of Hawkeye certainly seemed to hint at an appearance from Wilson Fisk, but that's yet to be made official, and we're still not sure D'Onofrio will reprise the role. If all the pieces do fall into place, though, it's hard to imagine Marvel Studios failing to capitalize on the potential of reigniting this feud.

DAREDEVIL: Kevin Feige Finally Confirms That Charlie Cox Will Be The MCU's Man Without Fear

At long last, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige himself has confirmed that Charlie Cox will indeed reprise his role as Matt Murdock/Daredevil in a future project set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe!

After years of endless speculation, CinemaBlend has exclusively learned that Charlie Cox will indeed reprise his fan-favorite role as Matt Murdock/Daredevil in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Speaking with Kevin Feige himself, the Marvel Studios President assertively confirmed, "If you were to see Daredevil in upcoming things, Charlie Cox, yes, would be the actor playing Daredevil. Where we see that, how we see that, when we see that, remains to be seen."

It's a rare move from Feige, who is famously known for holding all of his cards under his trademark hats, and the timing is especially curious now considering that this bombshell reveal comes just ten days ahead of the theatrical launch of Spider-Man: No Way Home, a movie Cox has heavily been rumored to appear in for months.

His cavalier reveal also arrives just days after newcomer Alaqua Cox made her debut as Maya Lopez/Echo and in the midst of a hungry news cycle that has been absolutely buzzing about co-star Vincent D'Onofrio's potential return as the Kingpin in Hawkeye. 

Feige didn't say when we could potentially see the Man Without Fear (MCU variant) return to action, but if he is introduced as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home, then it seems probable that he could have a significant role to play in the upcoming Echo, She-Hulk, or Moon Knight Disney+ shows or any street-level project, not to mention there was a recent report suggesting Marvel Studios had already begun actively developing a solo Daredevil project.

Whatever the end result may be, this is a massive development for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and opens the world to a whole new plethora of stories, so time to celebrate, because The Devil of Hell's Kitchen is ing back!
