Despicable Me 2

It was slightly better than the first, but considering the hype, it should have been great, and it wasn't.

I was almost going to give it a respectable four stars, but I can't anymore. Because of the damn Dance Party ending. It's like the film was deliberately trying to piss me off. It's eerily uncanny for that reason.

I'm starting to like Dr. Nefario.

The part with Purple Kevin destroying all of the punishing things being unleashed upon him in the demonstration was a great run of terrific visual sight gags. I wish the movies did more stuff like that.

Kristen Schaal playing the hottest of messes. She's cool as bad-ass preteens, but the truth is her being potentially frightening significant others is her freaking wheelhouse.

Do all the movies end with a dance party? If so, I'm not going to wind up liking any of them too much. 3 1/2 stars.

Deleted Scene: Gruties:

They toned this down in the movie because it's just too damn cruel. 2 stars.

Mini-Movies:

Three cartoon shorts of varying quality. Overall: 3 stars.

Puppy:

Super cute. 4 stars.

Panic In The Mailroom:

It was nonsense, but it wasn't even FUNNY nonsense, so I can't even give it credit for that. 2 stars.

Training Wheels:

Agnes and her Unicorns continue to be adorable. 3 1/2 stars.
