Gremlins: The Wild Batch "Never Get Out Of The Truck"

The Clamp stuff was hilarious in 1990, but for obvious reasons it hits differently in 2025. But kudos to the show for getting John Glover for Rodney Clamp. Very nice tie-in.

Grandpa is kind of a cad, isn't he? I'm learning things about him I didn't want to know. And as the Air Spirit proved, many of those things are actually unforgivable.

Pretty good. 4 stars.
Gremlins: The Wild Batch "Always Ask For Backstory"

Chang being bad is surprise but it's also not out of nowhere.

I love they got Keith David for the Ghost Sheriff. I love that the fact that he was a Black lawman was actually brought up.

During Grandpa's story I kept thinking he was contemptible until we got to the end and I realized he's not all bad.

Those deaths were gruesome.

Very interested in what Noggin has to say.

Cool episode. 4 stars.

Gremlins: The Wild Batch "Never Try The Cider"

Oh, my God! The Coyote and the Roadrunner! This franchise is INSANE!

I'm not giving this episode a passing grade. Why? I think Sam describing whoever tied them up as a "evil monster" was badly written dialogue. And even though the stuff with Noggin was enjoyable, I'm tired of characters saying unrealistic, non-credible things just to move the plot forward.

Sure, it's cool that Chang revealed his true colors. But I don't like how pat Sam's precise words were and how they were only what they were to hurt Gizmo. Fiction needs to do better. 2 1/2 stars.

Gremlins: The Wild Batch "Always Or Never Make Wishes"

Am I wrong? Because it seems to me like Noggin is headed for a redemption arc. Which seems really cool to me. But crazy idea, right?

Regardless of whether freeing Kung-Kung is the wrong move or not, Sam should have backed Elle's play. Why? Chang, bastard that he is, proved why. Because if his mother was in the same danger he WOULD go along with it. Him refusing to do that for Elle is selfish.

Another good one. 4 stars.

Gremlins: The Wild Batch "Always Make The Hard Choice"

What a great ending. I've noticed a distressing lack of Gremlins this season, and not only did they redeem Noggin, they made the Gremlins the heroes. What fun.

Noggin's stuff with Gizmo was wonderful. I loved it.

Chang saying her and Sam's Mom were even over threatening each other's lives is bullshit. Because she didn't have a deadly weapon on him when she did it.

I'm glad Elle got her Mom back, but Grandpa finding the third wishing stone means a third season is a must. But if there isn't one, that was a memorable finale to go out on. 5 stars.

Gremlins: The Wild Batch "Always Be Ready For Adventure"

What is going on with Gizmo? I'm a little worried.

I like Big Big and Little Big.

Cute opener. No actual Gremlins appeared though. 3 1/2 stars.

Gremlins: The Wild Batch "Never Take The Tour"

Noggin has been found! Shenanigans are afoot!

Elle says "damn" here.

The undead Alcatraz guards are spooky.

Solid. 3 1/2 stars.

Gremlins: The Wild Batch "Never Use Double Negatives"

That was interesting as hell. Noggin did NOT kill Boss Chang. He genuinely befriended him. I think Chang reading his values as truly wanting to help Chinatown are interesting because I think they were true at the time. It's only when the goons betrayed him that he went dark. That's fascinating to me, and stuff like this is why this show is an amazing addition to the franchise.

Great episode. 4 1/2 stars.

Gremlins: The Wild Batch "Always Bring A Toothpick"

I find myself having a great deal of sympathy for Noggin. As far as Evil Mogwai go, he doesn't strike me as exactly evil.

The pacing on this show is surprisingly tight. Especially for a cartoon. It plays like an actual movie.

Good stuff. 4 stars.

Gremlins: The Wild Batch "There's Always A Fortune In The Cookie Factory"

Is the episode title an Arrested Development reference?

Is Noggin dead? I actually hope not, but you'd figured he'd be in the last scene if he weren't.

We didn't learn what was going on with Gizmo which IS a bit of a disappointment. That will probably come later in the season.

This season is indeed wild. 4 stars.
