The rest of the series better be this good!

It could've been a few episodes more without a problem but, yeah, very, very good.  I have two complaints/disappointments about the series, the first being that the show really only covered the visual effects part of the company.  There was a lot more about the formation of Pixar than I expected (most of which I'd never heard about before) and a bit on the creation of Edit Droid and digital film editing but other than that there was very little on the creature shop and practically nothing on sound design and no mention at all of the creation of the THX sound standard or the theme park work they did for Disney and Universal.  My second complaint is that the last episode feels very rushed.  It begins with the work on Jurassic Park and goes about 30 minutes on that, there's a short montage of the films they worked on after that with no mention of the Special Editions, just straight into the prequels (and then very little on those).  Then it jumps from the prequels to Iron Man and from there to The Mandalorian.  The last ten minutes has another montage that shows off some other FX work that falls between the prequels and The Mandalorian which has (I believe) the only footage from the sequel trilogy in the show (there may be a bit in the first episode because I know they interviewed Abrams a bit but I don't remember any footage).  At this point I guess I'll add a third complaint which does fall into this time span, as well.  They don't really talk enough about invisible effects.  They show a bit from Forrest Gump and some shots from The Underground Railroad but there is so much being done to every movie these days that people never notice because it's not a starship flying across the sky, instead it's a skyline that doesn't exist (or one that doesn't exist anymore), an anachonism that's been removed/replaced, an digital extension to a building to make it look different, a view out of window.  Still, if you enjoy watching behind-the-scenes stuff Light & Magic is well worth the six hours.
