DC's Legends Of Tomorrow "The Final Frame"

Spoiler

Oh, my God! Are they actually planning to kill Constantine off?! What are they doing?! DC is broken.

"Bullying Alley". I've notice a lot of recent premises of the show are down to cheap puns. Yes, this is a silly show. That doesn't make that acceptable.

For the record the producers want us to be as annoyed as Nate and Zari are that the couple wants to go along with their drive to town. Reality check: That guy should NOT be handing over the keys to his truck for a pair of complete strangers. It's weird that Nate thinks they should, or that the guy almost goes along with it before changing his mind.

The thing I liked in the episode is realizing the reason Rory wears the gloves: He's self-conscious of the burns. That's both interesting and endearing. Dominic Purcell will be missed when he leaves the show. And the show is apparently getting rid of the two best characters. Literally.

Not happy about where things seem to be headed. 3 stars.

DC's Legends Of Tomorrow "Bored On Board Onboard"

Spoiler

Wow, I'm surprised. This show is doing something really unexpected during Constantine's farewell season. I did not see it coming. What the series decided to do is make Constantine so loathsome and despicable in his final episodes, we'll be glad to see the back end of him and say good riddance, rather than missing him. I never would have thought of that specific storytelling avenue. Because I do not suck, and am not a total idiot. The producers must be 10th level stupid to think that idea is remotely acceptable after forcing us to lose him. DC is franchise that can do almost nothing right. Not only is the show getting rid of the best character. They're making sure to ruin him and whatever affection the audience previously held for him. Again, this type of storytelling is unusual because even the dumbest and hackiest of writers know you shouldn't do that.

The show suggests Barry Allen is a sucky wedding guest. I agree. Sara may love the guy, but Ava is right that he's a magnet for supervillains. Barry is the guy who whenever he attends something honoring somebody else, that thing instantly becomes about himself instead. It's interesting Ava recognizes this and Sara doesn't.

I'm always like the British phrase "A cuppa cha."

So Behrad objects to drinking? But apparently all the pot he smokes and the acid he drops is okay. I understand the character is Muslim and the writers want to be respectful to that aspect of him. But the fact that he's a pothead probably means that is NOT the thing they need to keep for Muslim authenticity. It in fact makes no sense.

I am not happy. 1 1/2 stars.

DC's Legends Of Tomorrow "Silence Of The Sonograms"

Spoiler

I have come to the unpleasant realization that the writers have no game-plan or idea of what to do with Bishop. They are merely throwing crap at a wall and seeing what will stick.

The Constantine stuff was amazing, topped off to scary, awful perfection by him lighting one of those damn cigarettes at the end. I can't believe DC is taking this away from Matt Ryan. It's not right.

I loved the Constantine stuff, but the episode troubled me. 3 stars.

DC's Legends Of Tomorrow "There Will Be Brood"

Spoiler

I am beyond angry. That is the worst ending to Constantine the show could have come up with. And it looks like Rory's probably dead too. Whatever goodness the show used to possess is gone now. I predict next season is going to be as bad as Supergirl and The Flash. If not worse.

I am so pissed. 0.

DC's Legends Of Tomorrow "The Fungus Amongus"

Spoiler

I'll allow it.

They didn't kill Constantine off after all. And Matt Ryan is still on the show. If and when DC gets its crap together he can be brought back. I sincerely hope DC gets its crap together SOON.

It looks like Rory will be back for next season's premiere at least.

Honestly, I am regretful the younger Bishop had his mind wiped. I get that's how time travel needs to work, but I regret that it is. Him reforming before he turned evil would have been a really cool idea. It's a shame the premise itself wouldn't allow it.

The end was mystical nonsense and beyond a deus ex Machina. You know what? I don't care. Why? Because it was one that serviced the characters rather than the plot. Yes, technically that bit of writing sucked. But it was good for the characters, which is far more important.

I predicted I'd hate this last week but it pleasantly surprised me. 3 1/2 stars.
