Sitting out an entire wave. Can you imagine what I could do with that money instead? Yeah, I think I'll probably wind up passing.

I've had bad timing all around when it's come to this line as I've missed the pre-order window every single time.  We ship a lot of Super7 stuff at work including occasional Ultimates and I found the bin with the re-issue Panthro yesterday so I went and checked the system and we had Panthro and Lion-O in stock so I got those ordered and got the message this morning that they were ready to be picked up.  Mumm-Ra and Ma-Mutt were listed as "Special Order" so I tried on that one, hopefully that comes through...  Guess I'll try pre-ordering everything else next payday and see how that goes over the next few months...

My friend told me to stop quoting the Monkees. I thought she was joking. But then I saw her face.

Have you tried Big Bad Toy Store? That's where I get my figures.

Yeah, I like BBTS *but* if I can get them through work I will save a lot of money on them, no shipping and wholesale pricing...

I gotta say I really love the new ordering system they've put in place for employees...  I ordered these two late Tuesday afternoon and I brought them home with me today!  Actually could've had them yesterday if it hadn't been my day off.  The old system would've been a week at best but more likely to be two weeks.

This is my favorite line since JLU. But I think I like it even MORE than JLU.

Yes, I know what I just said.

Thundertank's been pushed out to November. I HAVE the money in the bank, and have for 2 years, BBTS and Super7, Why do you refuse to take it? Really resenting that nonrefundable 50 dollar down-payment right about now.

If that tank is anything near the quality of Snake Mountain you are not going to be disappointed when it arrives.  Better it gets pushed back a bit than to be rushed.

Oh, man, now you're getting me excited.

I have some thoughts/advice about the tank which I'll try to post tomorrow night...  If you want to see a production sample check the video below for shots of Brian cradling that monster.  He also gives a lot of updates most of the rest of the line.  Start at the 21:00 mark to skip straight to the Thundercats stuff (which is followed by a bit of Toxic Crusader then Silverhawks talk).

Quick overview on the Thundercats update...

Wave 5 is on the water right now.

Wave 6 (the LJN wave) should go up for pre-order (for real this time) this week.

Brian says that there is a question mark next to SDCC but if you watch the S7 promo below you'll see the actual item.

Also a question mark next to August.

October will have a secret item.

The Thundertank should leave the factory and hit the water in October (might be earlier but he's playing it safe with the date) so that will probably ship to people sometime in December.

Wave 7 will be up for pre-order in November.  Brian said "all new, all animated" for the wave.

Brian shows off some early test shots of Silverhawks and mentions that the engineering has them delayed a bit from where they should be.  Also mentions that the color-shifting paints look great but all of the factory's samples have been painted on unannounced figures/parts that he can't show, yet.

SDCC promo #5 shows off Re:Action Jem and Pizzaz in tiny retro boxes, Re:Action My Pet Monster in glow-in-the-dark colors in broken retro television shaped box and, finally, an Ultimates Hook Mountain Lion-O which has a "frozen" color scheme that changes to normal colors in sunlight.

Wave 5 is on the water? It's still coming out 4th quarter though, right? I DO need a little more time to save up.

Edit:

Is that just for BBTS? If so I can wait.

Hook Mountain Lion-O is cool but not necessary. I can skip it.

I couldn't log-in last night but I found this image on YouTube saying Entertainment Earth already has wave 5 in-stock.  Don't know what that means for BBTS...

Sorry for the delay on posting this.  Computer seems to be working right at the moment and I've finally got the time to sit and organize my thoughts to some degree (though I'm sure I'll end up rambling as I always do... See?... I've started already...).  This is something to keep in mind for the Thundertank.  I'm sure that it's going to be a big, hefty piece of plastic and it will be sturdy enough for what it is but what it isn't is a "toy" at least not in the sense of something that Mattel would release.  Super7 isn't making a "toy" they're making a "collectable" that functions *like* a toy.  Brian has a great staff of designers and engineers but he doesn't have the type of engineers/safety people or testing equipment that a real toy company like Mattel has.  If Mattel were making the tank they'd still label it as an "Adult Collectable" but it would still go though all of the safety testing that all of their other products go through.  As great as Snake Mountain is (and to be fair, the initial design work was done by Mattel and the Four Horsemen) it does have a few issues that aren't really a problem for an adult collectable but would never pass muster for a real toy company to release.  For instance the walls are thick enough that normal display use won't have a problem but there were a lot of reports of the walls cracking around the hinge if care wasn't taken.  It also isn't easy to move around as there is no latch to keep it closed and there is no real handhold to carry it by (both of which I'm sure lead to most of the cracked plastic), it's something that needs to be cradled from below when moving.  Mine has an issue with the topmost piece where the gateway doesn't want to snap into the base piece.  I still need to take a hairdryer to it and get it snapped together properly (of course it will never go back into the box after that because that thing ain't coming apart after that).  Essentially what I'm trying to say is that it probably won't be something that you'll have to handle like an eggshell but you will probably need to take care with how you pick it up when moving from place to place just to make sure that you  don't put something like the hinges on the passenger compartment or those on the wheel-feet in a bind and chance plastic cracking.  And if there is any assembly required make sure that you have a hairdryer handy just-in-case.
